Getting The Word Out

(aka Marketing)

Marketing!

Marketing isn’t a bad word.

Simply put:  it's telling folks who you are and what you’re offering - in a generous fashion.

To prosper, you must sell. To sell, you must get your workshops and your art seen. And you must do it in a way that helps you balance marketing, creative time, life and your goals. Otherwise, what’s the point, right?

Golden Dragonfly Academy of Art - Marketing for You

We pursue media relations to increase our audience and get the word out.

We reach out to artist organizations, travel listings, networking groups and more. We pursue both US and international markets.

We use social media posting and filtered ads to increase our visibility. We're working hard to increase traffic to goldendragonflyacademy.com

Some Efficient & Effective Marketing Ideas That Will Boost Your Visibility

  • MAKE A PLAN.
  • MAKE A LIST OF STEADY ACTIONS FOR YOUR PLAN (we believe in lists)
  • ADD YOUR ACTION ITEMS TO YOUR CALENDAR. WITH REMINDERS.

  1. Make a schedule for posting your workshops to your social media
  2. Give your Golden Dragonfly Academy Artist Profile a fresh update from time to time. You can post just about any type of content including YouTube or Vimeo embeds or links, images, external links to your art website, or events or shows you’re participating in.
  3. Write short little articles about shows or community projects you’re in. Mention awards you’ve receive a studio report of WIP, or new ideas you’re developing. People are curious about your life as an artist. Share what you're comfortable sharing!
  4. Re-purpose articles you write for posting on your social media platforms.
  5. Re-purpose articles you write for an email newsletter service like mailchimp.com (free!).
  6. Send personal follow-up emails to your workshop customers. Thank them for being a part of the workshop. Everyone wants to feel seen. You can acknowledge for their effort and success, and create loyal, trusting followers.
  7. Send emails about your art practice, news or quick blurbs about your upcoming workshops.

TIP!

Marketing doesn't have to break the bank, or eat up all your valuable studio time. It does pay to be consistent.
